Commander's Comments
Captain Edgar Dale Post 81 of the American Legion will be holding election of Officers for the 2019-2020 years. The Nomination Committee will report on the positions of Post Commander. 1st Vice Commander,
Finance Officer, Adjutant, and 5 year E-Board position.
Nominations will be held at the Post 81 General Meeting, 6:30 P.M. on March 11, 2019 and elections will be held at the Post 81 General Meeting, 6:30 P.M. on April 8, 2019.
All Post 81 American Legion members are encouraged to come out and have a voice in their elected offices. Gun Raffle DPMS Oracle 223/556 $20.00 per ticket maximum of 200 tickets sold. Drawing will be held March 30, 2019 at 5th District Convention. Tickets available at Post 81 Canteen or from one of several Legion members. Proceeds will be donated to Midwest Battle Buddies.

Canteen News
We are doing great in the Canteen. Our Canteen hours are Monday - Thursday 4 PM to 9 PM, Friday & Saturday 4 PM to 10 PM, Sunday 2 PM to 7 PM. We are anxiously awaiting Spring to open the Yard and start corn hole tournaments and grilling outside. We have March Madness right around the corner. Come cheer on our Kansas teams. We have several events coming Game night, St. Patrick's Day Party, and many more events. Come in to see what's next.
Check the event board in the canteen for future events.
Auxiliary News
Membership dues for 2019 are now past due date. They are $25.00 this year. So please let us know if you plan to continue your membership in the Auxiliary or if you wish to cancel your membership. The Snack Bar is doing good and we could still use some volunteers to work in the Snack Bar on Friday and Saturday nights. In December our unit adopted four (4) families from the Salvation Army for Christmas. We delivered presents and a food box to each family. At our February auxiliary meeting we are having a Valentines party. Please come and bring a homemade valentines box (like the ones we made in grade school) and valentines to put in everyone's box. Do not address the cards, just sign them, so everyone will know who gave them a valentine. 5th District Convention will be held in El Dorado on March 30th at the Post 81 home.
Meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:00 P.M.
American Legion Riders
In the last few weeks we have done 11 funerals, 7 Army Veterans, 1 Navy Veteran, 1 Coast Guard Veteran, 1 Marine Corps Veteran, and 1 Air Force Veteran. We helped in the delivery of the Childrens Bicycles for the Salvation Army Christmas Toy Shop held at Numana's facility here in El Dorado. We also went and participated in the Candlelight Vigil for Deputy Robert Kinsey held in Wichita.
We are looking forward to a wonderful season of riding this spring and summer.

Meetings are the 2nd Thursday of each month. If you are a SAL member please try to attend.
